Vibe Coding for Marketers: Three Ways to Build a Landing Page Without a Developer

For most of the web's history a marketer who needed a landing page filed a ticket and waited. That era is over. With a website builder plus an AI that writes the code snippets, an AI app builder, or a coding agent, a marketer can ship a page in an afternoon. The catch is knowing which route fits which job, and writing the copy before touching any of them.

Before you build: the copy

A landing page is copy with a layout around it. Use AIDA to write it first:

• Attention: the headline and the one line under it, aimed at a specific person with a specific problem.
• Interest: what you offer and why it is different, in the reader's words.
• Desire: proof. Results, testimonials, credentials, what is included.
• Action: one clear ask, one button, repeated.

Draft it in a document. Only then open a tool.

The vocabulary you need

Tools respond to precise briefs. Know these words: hero, the first screen; section, a horizontal block with one purpose; form, the fields and the submit button; header and footer; call to action; above the fold; responsive, meaning it works on phones. "Make the hero two columns with the form on the right and a testimonial section under it" gets built. "Make it look nice" does not.

Route 1: a website builder with AI-written code

Platforms like Squarespace give you hosting, templates, forms and a domain in one place. When a template cannot do something, ask an AI assistant to write the small piece of code, a custom section, a calculator, a styled block, and paste it into a code block. Best for service businesses, portfolios and most program or event pages. Lowest learning curve, and everything stays inside one dashboard.

Route 2: an AI app builder

Tools like Lovable turn a description into a working web app: describe the page, refine it in conversation, publish. They come with a built-in backend, so a form can store submissions and a page can have logged-in users. Best for interactive tools, quizzes, calculators, simple client portals. More power than a builder, and you can still avoid writing code, but you are now maintaining an app.

Route 3: a coding agent with a real stack

A coding agent such as Claude Code writes the full site in a real framework, connected to a database, hosting and email services. This is how our own site is built. Best when you need full control, custom integrations or performance at scale. Highest ceiling, and the honest learning curve is real: you are a product owner directing an engineer, and you need to understand enough to check the work.

Start at the simplest route that does the job. You can move up later; moving down is painful.

Two things vibe coding does not remove

Testing. Open the page on a phone. Submit the form. Check where the submission goes. AI builds fast and confidently, and it makes confident mistakes.

Ownership. Use your own domain, keep the form data flowing to a place you control, and know how to export everything. The tool is replaceable; your list is not.
