Most marketers who start making AI video pick one model and use it for everything. That is the fastest way to burn credits on the wrong shots. On Higgsfield you can generate with Kling 3.0, Seedance or Veo 3.1 inside the same project, and each one is best at a different kind of shot. Our rule in the AI Marketing Professional Certificate is simple: professionals pick per shot, not per project.

Key takeaways

  • Kling 3.0 is the everyday workhorse: character-driven and multi-shot storytelling, up to 15 seconds, 4K, native audio, and the cheapest of the three.
  • Seedance is the reference master: it builds from your own images, videos and audio, tagged in the prompt with the at sign, with phoneme-level lip-sync in many languages.
  • Veo 3.1 is the realism king for photorealistic, outdoor, light-driven scenes, but it burns credits much faster, so save it for hero shots.
  • Start and end frames are the biggest control lever, and only Kling single shot lets you pin both ends.
  • Models and credit costs change often, so check the in-app cost before every generation.

Why no single AI video model wins every shot

No single model wins every time, so the professional habit is to choose the model per shot rather than per project. A 30-second ad for a Beirut skincare brand might use Kling 3.0 for the scenes where the same model appears across several cuts, Seedance for a lip-synced line built from your own reference footage, and Veo 3.1 for one atmospheric shot of the product at golden hour on a balcony over the sea.

On Higgsfield the path is Video, then Create Video, then choose your model. Credits vary by model and the models change from month to month, so treat everything below as a snapshot and confirm the cost in the app before you generate.

Kling 3.0 vs Seedance vs Veo 3.1 at a glance

Kling 3.0 is the workhorse, Seedance is the reference master and Veo 3.1 is the realism king. This is how we frame the three in week 3 of the program.

ModelBest forStrengthsCost note
Kling 3.0Character-driven and multi-shot storytellingUp to 15 seconds, 4K, native audio, strong character consistency. Also the default model inside the Higgsfield MCP with Claude. The cheapest of the three, so the most room to experiment
SeedanceBuilding from your own images, videos and audioReferences tagged with the at sign in the prompt, phoneme-level lip-sync in many languages. It also powers Marketing Studio.Check the in-app credit cost per generation
Veo 3.1Photorealistic, outdoor, atmospheric, light-driven scenesNative audio and the most filmed-looking output of the threeBurns credits much faster, so reserve it for hero shots

A practical way to read the table: start on Kling 3.0, move to Seedance when the shot depends on a face, product or voice you already have on file, and use Veo 3.1 only where realism is the whole point.

Start frames and end frames: the rule for each model

A start frame controls how the video begins, an end frame controls how it ends, and the model builds the motion between the two. This is the single most important concept for control, and a start frame also saves credits. Every image you made in the image week can become the first frame of a video.

The rules differ by model, and knowing them prevents a lot of confusion in the interface.

ModeStart frameEnd frame
Kling single shotYesYes
Kling multishotYesNo
SeedanceNo, it works from reference images and videos insteadNo

Use Kling single shot whenever you need a precise before and after, because it is the only mode that lets you pin both ends. A clip that opens on a closed box and ends on the product lifted out is a Kling single shot job.

Single shot vs multishot auto vs multishot custom

The choice comes down to how many cuts happen inside one generation, and who decides them.

  • Single shot: one continuous take, one camera. The cleanest and most stable output.
  • Multishot auto: you describe the whole sequence and the AI decides the cuts. Fast to write, less control.
  • Multishot custom: you direct every shot and its exact duration yourself. Maximum control.

Tag any element in your prompt with the at sign to reference it directly. Our rule of thumb: single shot for control, custom for a planned sequence, auto only when you want speed over control.

The cleanest way to feel the difference is the three-demo exercise we run in class: the same assets, three modes.

  1. Demo A, single shot with a start and end frame. Start on the product bottle on marble, end on the extreme close-up of the golden serum drop. One slow continuous push-in connects them.
  2. Demo B, multishot auto from the start frame only. One paragraph describing the product sequence, and the AI chooses the cuts.
  3. Demo C, multishot custom from the same start frame. Three directed shots: shot one, three seconds, a slow push toward the bottle; shot two, three seconds, the dropper lifts and holds; shot three, four seconds, the golden drop swells at the tip.

Demo B and Demo C use the same inputs and produce entirely different levels of control.

The settings that matter

Duration, dimensions and quality are the three settings worth thinking about before you generate. Most clips run 5 to 10 seconds, with a 15-second ceiling per generation. Pick the ratio for the platform, vertical for Reels and TikTok. Most models now offer 4K, so use it where the credits allow. For a longer ad, generate several clips and stitch them in CapCut; the full workflow from storyboard to export is in our guide to AI video ads with Higgsfield, ElevenLabs and CapCut.

The five ways to make video on Higgsfield

The Video tab gives the most control and the least credit waste, and it is the one we recommend for marketing work. The other four each have a place.

RouteWhat it doesBest for
Video tabDirect generation, one clip at a timeMarketing work, maximum control, least credit waste
Claude MCPGenerate Higgsfield videos straight from a Claude chatWorking inside a Claude project without switching tools
Marketing StudioPowered by Seedance, built for UGC and ad formats: select the format, upload your character and product, and it generatesMarketing volume
Cinema StudioAn AI Director breaks your concept into shots with real camera controlCinematic work
SupercomputerBrief once and it routes across models and assembles the cutSpeed, but it burns credits quickly and you cannot control the outcome, so treat it with caution

Where this is taught

Choosing the model per shot, the frame rules and the three-demo exercise are covered in week 3 of the AI Marketing Professional Certificate, where the goal is a finished, platform-ready video ad.

Frequently asked questions

Which model should a beginner start with? Kling 3.0. It is the cheapest of the three, it handles character-driven and multi-shot work, and it is the only model that accepts both a start and an end frame in single shot mode, which is where most control lives.

When is Veo 3.1 worth the extra credits? When realism is the point of the shot: outdoor, atmospheric, light-driven scenes that need to look filmed. Spend Veo credits on one or two hero shots only.

Can I use a start frame with Seedance? No. Seedance has no start frame at all. It works from reference images and videos tagged in the prompt with the at sign, which is what makes it the right choice when you are building from your own assets.

Will these models and prices still be right next month? Probably not exactly. Models and credit costs on Higgsfield move quickly, so check the in-app cost before you generate.
